Russia claims to repel drone attacks in Moscow, Bryansk, Kursk, Belgorod, and Tula regions
On the night of November 18, Russian air defense forces and means were deployed in the Moscow region in response to an incoming air attack. A UAV heading towards Moscow was sighted.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that on Telegram.
According to the mayor of the capital of the aggressor country, a drone attack on Moscow was reportedly thwarted that night in the Ramenskiy district, which is located in the Moscow region.
Sobyanin also said that emergency services specialists are working at the scene.
"The air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense in the Ramenskiy city district repelled an attack by a drone flying towards Moscow.
According to preliminary data, there was no damage or casualties at the debris fall site. Emergency services specialists are working at the scene," he said.
Later, footage appeared on the network, revealing the alleged moment of destruction of the drone in the Ramenskiy district.
According to the SHOT Telegram channel, residents of this city heard a powerful explosion at about 3:40 a.m. (local time).
Later, the Moscow mayor announced that another drone had been shot down, this time in the Pavlovo-Posadskiy city district.
According to him, this UAV was also "flying to Moscow."
It should be noted that the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, also announced that air defense operations were underway that night due to the drone attack. At the same time, Bryansk public forums wrote about powerful explosions in the region, particularly in the city of Bryansk.
The Russian official claimed that 26 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were supposedly shot down in the area. However, he did not mention any consequences of the drone strike.
So, as per the Russian Ministry of Defense, the following drones were taken down:
- two UAVs in the Moscow region;
- 45 drones in the Bryansk region;
- six in the Kursk region;
- three in the Belgorod region;
- three in the Tula region.

On the night of November 15, strike drones attacked the Krasnodar Territory, where the Krymsk military airfield is located. The Russian authorities stated that the Russian air defense intercepted and destroyed 51 Ukrainian drones, including 36 over the Krasnodar Territory.
Furthermore, on November 12, the Ukrainian military attacked the Oskolneftesnab warehouse located in the Belgorod region of Russia. The warehouse was used to store fuel and lubricants.
On the night of November 10, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Bryansk. Local authorities announced a drone attack and air defense work.
According to the governor of the region, 15 drones were allegedly shot down in Bryansk. At the same time, the official stated that "there were no casualties or damage."
However, the social media reported that a fire had erupted in Bryansk following the explosions, and footage of the incident was shared on the network. Analysts speculated that a military base had been targeted. The governor later confirmed the fire in Bryansk but stated that only non-residential structures were ablaze.
It is worth adding that unknown drones were recorded in the morning in the Moscow region. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced an attack on the Russian capital. According to him, the air defense allegedly shot down 32 drones. Several fires broke out in the Moscow region due to the attack.
Due to drones, Moscow airports "Vnukovo" and "Domodedovo" were closed.
Later, the General Staff confirmed the Defense Forces' strike on ammunition depots in the Bryansk region. According to the General Staff of Ukraine's armed forces, at least eight explosions were recorded. At least two fires broke out on the military unit's territory, and there were also signs of detonation.
