Ukraine's defense ministry announces testing of new special and camouflage suits
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced the start of military (experimental) tests for three new items of military equipment aimed at improving comfort and protection for Ukrainian servicemen.
Rubryka reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The tests will evaluate:
- Camouflage suit (Type 2)
- Winter hat
- Special winter suit
Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov emphasized the importance of this testing phase. "Our goal is to provide the Armed Forces with reliable and modern uniforms and equipment that meet the real needs of the army. Conducting these tests is a key stage because they will help assess how well the new items meet the requirements for reliability and usability," he stated.
Klimenkov also encouraged manufacturers and suppliers to participate in the process.
The Central Directorate for the Development of Material Support of the Ministry of Defense has developed technical descriptions for the experimental batches of these items, which are available on the Partner MOD portal in the "Useful Information" section. Manufacturers are invited to notify the Central Administration and the Command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine about their ability to provide at least 11 sets of the above items for free for testing. Applications must be submitted exclusively through the MOU Partner portal.
The tests will focus on important parameters such as thermal comfort, wear resistance, material reliability, and the ability to withstand extreme conditions. These checks are essential for ensuring the equipment meets the modern demands of service in the Armed Forces, which is crucial for both the defense capability and comfort of frontline troops.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defense is conducting laboratory studies of a new lightweight bulletproof vest model, weighing between 7.5 kg and 12 kg, designed to provide 6th-class protection.
