The Ministry of Defense Procurement Agency has finalized its first contract to purchase ammunition through the UNITED24 crowdfunding platform. Under this agreement, UAH 47 million worth of ammunition is expected to be delivered.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this.

"This is an important step in strengthening our army's defense capability due to new funding sources. We will continue to work on providing our military with ammunition to perform combat missions effectively," Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov said.

It's worth noting that in May 2024, the government permitted the procurement agencies of the Ministry of Defense to transfer funds from a designated account to support Ukraine's armed forces. This account was created to gather voluntary contributions through UNITED24.

Funds may be transferred to agencies for defense procurement with the approval of the Ministry of Defense.

"We are very grateful to compatriots and citizens of the democratic world for their donations through the UNITED24 fundraising platform. For our part, we can purchase ammunition for Ukraine's armed forces as quickly and efficiently as possible," Director of the Defense Procurement Agency Maryna Bezrukova mentioned.

For reference:

The UNITED24 fundraising platform, created at the initiative of the Ukrainian president, aims to unite the international community's efforts to support Ukraine in its struggle for independence and sovereignty. Thanks to this platform, people worldwide can contribute to support Ukraine and its Defense Forces.

The fundraising platform, spearheaded by the Ukrainian president, is the primary channel for gathering donations supporting Ukraine. Over 28 months, the UNITED24 platform has amassed over $678 million in contributions from donors in over 110 countries.
