Russia shells children's cafe in Malokaterynivka, Zaporizhzhia region, killing a teenager, injuring six children and three adults

Due to the Russian attack on the Zaporizhzhia region on August 20, six children were wounded, and one teenager tragically passed away. Additionally, three more adults were also injured.

Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that on Telegram.

As the regional leader mentioned, five people were known to have been injured yesterday, August 20, in the village of Malokaterynivka due to a Russian artillery attack that hit a children's café.

The Zaporizhzhia regional police confirmed that four minors were injured in the attack:

  • an 11-year-old, 14-year-old, 15-year-old, and 17-year-old boys,
  • along with an 18-year-old female.

Later, the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office reported that a 15-year-old boy died during resuscitation measures.

This morning, the regional military administration's head said that the number of victims in the district has increased.

"A 14-year-old boy died, six more children were injured – they are boys 17, 16, 15, 14 years old and girls 10 and 11 years old.

A 28-year-old man and women aged 18 and 45 were also injured. Such are the disappointing consequences of the Russian shelling of the Zaporizhzhzhia region," the official said.

Throughout the day, the invaders attacked a total of 12 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, launching 303 strikes.

Russian troops carried out three airstrikes on Lobkovo, Novoandriivka, and Novodarivka.

198 UAVs of various modifications attacked Bilenka, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodarivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Poltavka.

Robotine, Hulyaipole, Mala Tokmachka, and Novodarivka were shelled by five rockets.

97 artillery shells were fired on the territory of Malokaterynivka, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Novodarivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Poltavka and Preobrazhenka.

"We received ten reports about the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure," Fedorov said.
