Russian troops shell supermarket in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, injuring seven
On August 9, Russian aggressors launched an attack on the "Ekomarket" supermarket in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region. A fierce fire quickly broke out; there were injured people.
The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported that on Telegram.
According to Filashkin, the terrorists attacked Kostiantynivka with barrel artillery.
"Right now, there are at least 7 known victims, one of whom is in serious condition and is receiving the necessary medical care.
This is another targeted attack on a place of gathering of people, another act of terror by the Russians," Filashkin said.

The police, lifeguards, doctors, and other responsible services work on the site.
According to local Telegram channels, the strike occurred around 11:00 a.m.
"War against civilians is all they can do. Russia must feel full retribution for everything it does," the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, wrote, commenting on the attack on the supermarket.

After the shelling from the Russian military on August 9, 24 civilians in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, were injured and four died, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
It should be noted that on August 8, in July, the Russian occupiers killed four more civilians in the Donetsk region and injured 12 people.
In total, during the past day, the Russians shelled populated areas of the Donetsk region 14 times.
As reported, on the evening of August 8, the Russian occupying forces dropped an aerial bomb on Selydove, Donetsk region, as a result of which two people were killed and 11 residents were injured of various degrees of severity.
Since the invasion started, the Russians have killed 2,128 civilians and injured 5,588 in the Donetsk region. These numbers do not include the casualties in Mariupol and Volnovakha.

The Russian adversary targeted several areas in Ukraine on August 9. An air alert was declared in Kyiv after being attacked by Shahed-type strike drones. There were also explosions in the city of Dnipro during the night, caused by a drone attack from the Russian side.
As reported, Russian troops attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region with artillery and drones. Two enemy Shahed UAVs were shot down over the region; there were no casualties, but the infrastructure was damaged.
All the air targets of the occupiers were shot down over the Poltava region.
The Defense Forces of Ukraine utilized their mobile fire groups, anti-aircraft missile units, and Air Force EW equipment to successfully fend off the attack. Thanks to the efforts of the anti-aircraft defense, all 27 UAVs were successfully destroyed in various regions, including Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and others.
