Russian troops shell Kharkiv's central district, causing damage to civilian infrastructure and possible casualties

Russian soldiers have launched an attack on Kharkiv's central district, putting civilians in danger of further shelling. The enemy strike has caused damage to civilian infrastructure, and there is a possibility of people being trapped under the rubble.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that on Telegram.

According to Terekhov, the enemy struck a densely populated building, resulting in a fire.

Information about the destruction and victims is currently being clarified.

"Be careful – the shelling may continue," the mayor added.

According to Oleh Synehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, emergency services have already left for the scene of the hit.

As Terekhov mentioned, the polyclinic building sustained damage due to the shelling. Details regarding the injuries and damage are still being updated.

According to Synehubov, civilian infrastructure was damaged due to the strike. As of now, two people have applied with an acute reaction to stress.

"There may be people under the rubble," he added.

It's worth mentioning that the Ukrainian Air Force alerted at 9:40 a.m. to the presence of enemy tactical aircraft in the northeast area and the potential use of aerial weapons on front-line zones.

They later warned about the danger of ballistic weapons from the east.

On the evening of August 5, the Russian aggressors launched both kamikaze drones to attack Ukraine and ballistic missiles towards the capital. Explosions were heard in Kyiv while air defenses were working to protect the city and surrounding area from rocket strikes. Subsequently, air defense systems in the region were also activated in response to an attack by Shahed-type drones.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported no damages or casualties due to the enemy missile attack.

In addition, around 00:50, the invaders shelled the village of Tsyrkuny, Kharkiv district, and explosions were also heard in Kharkiv itself due to the enemy attack.

There were also reports of explosions in the Khmelnytskyi region, where enemy attack drones were headed.

In total, on the night of July 6, the Air Defense Forces destroyed four Russian missiles and 15 out of 16 Shahed kamikaze drones.
