Russia blames Ukraine for drone attack on ferry ship in Kerch Strait, Krasnodar region
In the Krasnodar region, drones launched an attack on a ferry docked at the Kavkaz port in the Kerch Strait. The Russian government has accused Ukraine of carrying out the attack. There have been casualties among the crew members.
The monitoring groups and the governor of the region reported that.
The governor of the region, Veniamin Kondratiev, said that the attack on the Krasnodar region was carried out in the morning.
"This morning, a ferry was attacked by drones in the port of Kavkaz. Emergency services are now working on the spot. The fire is local; there is no threat of the fire spreading," he wrote, blaming Kyiv for this.
He says that there are injured and one deceased person among the crew members and employees of the port.
At the same time, eyewitnesses in the monitoring groups reported that ambulances and firefighters were driving towards the Kavkaz port.
It is worth noting that, in addition to passenger transportation, the port of Kavkaz has a railway ferry line that transports:
- cargo,
- liquefied gas,
- petroleum products,
- technical lubricant,
- glass,
- chemical products.
For reference:
There were reports of a potential drone attack on Sevastopol, Kerch, and Dzhankoi. People heard explosions in those areas.
Yesterday, July 22, in the Russian city of Tuapse, there were about five explosions from the local oil depot. The occupiers then also reported on the alleged successful repulse of the UAV attack.
Despite this, it later became known that a fire broke out at the enterprise, damaging the infrastructure.
