Ukraine's armed forces take down Russian Su-25 aircraft in Donetsk region
A group of Ukrainian fighter jets from a separate mechanized brigade, named after General Corporal Marko Bezruchko, took down another Russian Su-25 attack aircraft in the Donetsk region.
The press service of the "Khortytsia" operational-strategic group reported on Telegram.
As previously mentioned, the aircraft was shot down on the Pokrovsk front while attempting to attack the positions of Defense Forces units.
Military anti-aircraft guns destroyed the assault vehicle from a separate mechanized brigade named after General Corporal Marko Bezruchko.
"It is worth emphasizing that anti-aircraft fighters from a separate mechanized brigade named after General–Corporal Marko Bezruchko destroyed another Su-25 attack aircraft, which is already burning in the steppes of the Ukrainian Donbas. Thanks to Ukraine's anti-aircraft fighters' accuracy, skill, and professionalism, Russian aviation has decreased by one fighter today. The plane is a Su-25 attack aircraft," Khortytsia operational-strategic group noted.
As Rubryka reported, as of the morning of July 19, the Ukrainian military destroyed 361 Russian planes, 326 helicopters, 12,316 UAVs, and 2,401 Russian cruise missiles.
The total combat losses of Russian troops in Ukraine from February 24, 2022, to July 19, 2024, amount to about 564,620 people, including 980 people in the past 24 hours.
Ukrainian soldiers continue to actively inflict losses in human resources and equipment on the occupying troops, exhausting the offensive potential of the Russian enemy along the entire line of combat engagement and in the rear.
In the past day, aviation and missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces struck:
- two artillery systems,
- anti-aircraft missile complex "Buk,"
- the control point of the UAV,
- 22 areas of personnel concentration,
- weapons and military equipment.

Previously, the 31st brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine successfully shot down a Russian Su-25. In the last six months, Ukraine's Defense Forces have taken down over 30 aircraft belonging to the Russian army.
Also, on June 11, the General Staff of Ukraine's armed forces reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft on the Pokrovsk front.
