Over 30 countries are ready to accept children from Okhmatdyt hospital for treatment
The United States of America, as well as many European countries, declared their readiness to accept for treatment Ukrainian children who were injured as a result of the shelling of Okhmatdyt on July 8.
Ukraine's Minister of Health Viktor Liashko announced this on the telethon air.
The minister noted that 30 ambassadors from different countries approached him and expressed their desire to help treat young Ukrainian patients. Baltic states, Italy, Poland, the US, and others have addressed Ukraine with an offer to accept children for treatment.
Liashko also noted that sick children were currently sent to other hospitals in the capital. If necessary, they will be sent abroad.
"I call on parents whose children were receiving treatment at Okhmatdyt at the time of the terrorist attack: contact your doctor.
They will transfer your data to the manager, discuss all the details, and offer you options for treatment in Ukraine. If it cannot be provided here, it should be continued under the clear coordination of the Ministry of Health, namely, use medical evacuation," Liashko stressed.
As the minister noted, the government has already devised a mechanism for helping sick children. The Ministry of Health will handle the paperwork.
"Unfortunately, diseases do not wait for the war to end. This is a constant process, so doctors must act. Our main priority is to save lives, and the Ministry of Health will handle the bureaucracy," the minister of health noted.
It should be added that German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach was one of the first to say that his country is ready to accept sick Ukrainian children starting Wednesday, July 10.
"I promised the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Viktor Liashko, that we would accept sick children who need it at any time, and the next rescue flight leaves on Wednesday. With his targeted attack on the children's hospital, Putin once again showed that he is a war criminal ", says the minister's statement.

We will remind you that at the time of the rocket attack, there were almost 630 children in Okhmatdyt. Almost a hundred of the patients were evacuated to other medical facilities in the capital, and 68 continue to be treated in those departments that survived.
