A Russian tugboat and barge were attacked by drones in the Taganrog Bay. The barge sustained damage, and the tugboat captain chose to head back to port.

The Russian publication Baza reported that.

According to the publication, the attack took place on the evening of June 8 and targeted:

  • the tugboat " Inzhener Smirnov"

According to the message, the tug's performance did not suffer and the captain chose to head back to the port of Azov in the Rostov region.

The"Krymskiy Veter" publication alleges that the Ukrainian military employed kamikaze drones to provide cover for the tug "Inzhener Smirnov" as it towed the barge "Section179," purportedly intended as a safeguard for the Kerch bridge.

A tugboat was allegedly hit in the Sea of Azov.

Officially, neither Ukrainian nor Russian authorities have yet commented on the attack.

For reference:

It will be recalled that the Russian troops were trying to protect the Crimean Bridge and pulled eight barges to it. According to British intelligence, previously installed structures were damaged by storms, which reduced their effectiveness.

Previously, according to the reports, Ukraine's intelligence fighters had destroyed the Russian tugboat Project 498 "Saturn" in Crimea using naval drones.

At the end of May, the Defense Forces struck the Kerch crossing and sank one of the Russian ferries.

It was also reported that the pilot boat "Mechta" sank as a result of a missile attack on the temporarily occupied Crimea on the night of May 30.
