Zelensky: Russian forces have destroyed Trypillia TPP due to Ukraine's missile arsenal depletion

The occupying forces managed to destroy the Trypillia TPP, which was situated in the Kyiv region because Ukraine had depleted its supply of missiles and received no assistance from its allies.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with PBS.

The head of the Ukrainian state commented on the joint defense of Israel by the allies, who repelled the Iranian attack last weekend.

As the President noted, Israel itself would not be able to defend itself against such a massive strike from the Iranian side.

"Many things were involved that Ukraine lacks… This is really a demonstration of what allies are like not on paper but in the sky," the president said.

It should be noted that President Volodymyr Zelensky, after the meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on April 15, said that Western countries can help Ukraine protect itself from Russian attacks in the same way as they can help Israel defend itself against Iranian strikes.

"Israel is not a member of NATO, and there was no need for anything like the activation of Article 5. And no one was drawn into the war. They simply helped to protect lives. The Shahed drones in the sky of Ukraine sound the same as in the sky of the Middle East. Ballistics hits the same everywhere if they are not knocked down.

The skies of Europe could have long ago received precisely the kind of protection it needs if Ukraine had the same full support of its partners in shooting down drones and missiles. Terror must lose wholly and everywhere, not somewhere more, somewhere less," the President noted.

At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine defends the sky independently. Zelensky added that the allies gave Ukraine one or another piece of equipment, but "we have a shortage of it."

"Let me give you a simple example. At the Trypillia TPP, the lighting in the Kyiv region is dependent on it. Eleven missiles were launched, but we were able to destroy 7 of them. Unfortunately, the remaining four destroyed Trypillia. Why? Because there were zero missiles. We ran out of all the missiles that defended Trypillia," the Ukrainian leader explained.

The White House, in turn, said that the US has given up any combat participation in the war in Ukraine, so it will not shoot down Iranian drones launched by Russia, as it and its allies did last weekend in Israel.

For reference:

On the evening of April 11, Russian forces sent out multiple squadrons of Shahed attack drones above the Ukrainian land. Later on, it was revealed that 9 Tu95MS strategic bombers had taken off from the "Olenya" air base in the Murmansk region of Russia.

During that period, there were drone and rocket strikes in the Kyiv region, a vital infrastructure facility was attacked during an air alarm, and the Trypillia thermal power plant was demolished entirely.

Due to a massive enemy attack, the entire generation of "Centrenergo" was destroyed.

As the Minister of Energy Halushchenko reported, the system lost a significant amount of electricity generation due to Russian attacks on the objects of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
