Zelensky arrives in Türkiye for peace talks with Erdoğan
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrives in Istanbul on an official visit.
He is expected to meet with Turkish President Recep Erdoğan, Al Ain Turkce reports.
Zelensky and his Turkish counterpart are expected to meet at 6 p.m. Kyiv time.
The visit started with the Hetman Ivan Mazepa corvette for the Ukrainian Navy presentation, which is being built at a shipyard near Istanbul.
Ukraine's president will meet with representatives of Turkish defense companies.
The bilateral meeting will be followed by a joint press conference.
The meeting will be focused on be the Ukraine war. Both parties will raise the issue of renewing the agreement on the grain corridor.
The leaders with discuss Ukraine's peace formula, organization of the Peace Summit, safety of navigation in the Black Sea, global food stability, and the release of Ukrainian war prisoners.
The construction of the Ada corvette for the Ukrainian Navy began in April 2021, built in accordance with the Development Strategy until 2036.
