The EU opens a Defense Innovation Office in Kyiv to receive military experience and knowledge of military technologies from Ukraine, the Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen reports.

The office will support Ukraine's further integration into European defense programs while at the same time allowing European countries to learn from the experiences of the Ukrainian military.

SHe says this step will help bring Ukraine closer to Europe and allow the EU countries to use Ukraine's experience in combat operations and innovations in the defense sector.

The EU Commission chief emphasized that the EU will focus on innovation to ensure that Europe has an advantage in new technologies used worldwide in various conflicts.

The bloc should consider using the proceeds of frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine, including for the purchase of military equipment.
