Air defense downs all Russian drones in attack on Ukraine's south
The Ukrainian air defense forces successfully neutralized ten Russian drones in the southern Odesa and Mykolaiv regions on the night of February 28.
Rubryka reports, citing the Ukrainian Air Force and the Southern Defense Forces, that the Russian army launched attacks on Ukrainian territories using S-300 surface-to-air missiles from the occupied Donetsk region and ten Shahed-136/131 attack drones from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk area in Russia.
The Air Force stressed that they downed all drones through coordinated efforts with mobile fire groups and air defense missile units. Meanwhile, the Southern Defense Forces reported the successful drone interception.
Debris from one of the downed drones caused a short circuit in the power grid of a critical infrastructure facility in Odesa, resulting in a fire. Fortunately, the fire was swiftly extinguished, and there were no reported casualties.
The Southern Defense Forces released footage showcasing the operational effectiveness of Ukrainian air defenders.
On the previous night, Russian aggressors launched six missiles and deployed 13 "Shahed" drones against Ukraine. The air defense forces successfully intercepted two missiles and 11 drones.
