United to win: EU Commission President donates 50 SUVs to law enforcement officers in war-torn zone
Today, February 24th, marked the anniversary of the Russian Federation's extensive invasion of Ukraine. To commemorate the occasion, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, made her way to Kyiv. She was welcomed on Sofia Square by Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General, and many law enforcement officials.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, announced this on his Telegram channel.
During the official visit, the head of the European Commission handed over 50 cars for the needs of the National Police of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General's Office.
"It is an honor for me to be here in Ukraine at this difficult time for you. We sincerely hope that these vehicles will be useful in your vital work. I know that you are doing a great job providing security and stabilization in the territories liberated from Russian occupation. I really want to thank you and all the Ukrainian people for your courage and for everything you are doing on the way to Victory!" Ursula von der Leyen said.

As early as tomorrow, 30 off-road vehicles received by units of the National Police of Ukraine will work in front-line or de-occupied territories, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine noted.
Ihor Klymenko thanked European partners for their support during these two years of war and noted that the donated cars will be sent tomorrow to the territories closest to the war zone.
"Today, the biggest war after the Second World War is taking place precisely on the territory of our country. It is because of you that we hold on and win it. More than two thousand patrols are on duty daily in the de-occupied territories. We are engaged in delivering humanitarian goods, medicines, and responses to crimes. But, unfortunately, every day, we lose both people and cars. We are grateful to our partners, our European friends, for the support you provide us. Together to Victory!" stressed the Ministry of Internal Affairs head, Ihor Klymenko.
