Russian missiles strike hotel in Kharkiv region: body of 2-month-old baby recovered from rubble

On the night of February 6, Russian forces launched attacks on the city of Zolochiv in the northeastern Kharkiv region.
According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, the Russians hit a three-story hotel, causing significant damage, Rubryka reports.

Initially, the head of the regional administration said that, according to preliminary information, a person was trapped under the rubble. Syniehubov added that three individuals had been rescued.

"A three-story hotel is destroyed. Preliminary reports indicate a person trapped under the rubble, with three individuals rescued: two women and one man. There is also a fire on the facade of a shop," said the regional leader.

Later, Syniehubov reported that rescuers retrieved the body of a two-month-old boy from under the rubble of the three-story hotel.

"Rescuers retrieved the body of a two-month-old boy born on December 4, 2023, from under the rubble of the three-story hotel," said the head of the region. "Three women aged 21, 28, and 39, with explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds, have been hospitalized, including the mother of the deceased child."
Here's what we know about the shelling of Kharkiv region
The situation in the region over the past day:
- At 10:00 p.m., in the village of Hlushkivka in the Kupiansk district, the territory of a farm was damaged due to Russian shelling.
- After 9:00 p.m., Russian occupiers launched attacks on the outskirts of Kruhliakivka and Hlushkivka in the Kupiansk district. A warehouse on the farm's territory in Hlushkivka was damaged.
- At 8:50 p.m., Russian shelling occurred near the village of Kozacha Lopan in the Kharkiv district. The type of weaponry used is being determined. No information about casualties has been confirmed.
Ukrainian defenders repelled eight enemy attacks near Synkivka. During the day, demining groups in the Kharkiv region cleared 19.15 hectares of land and neutralized 243 explosive objects.
