New French FM heading to Kyiv to meet with Zelensky

French Foreign Minister Stephane Sèjournè is on his way to Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Le Figaro reports.

According to sources, the new French Foreign Minister will demonstrate France's support for Ukraine in the war against Russia. Zelensky was scheduled to meet with the previous French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, who resigned on January 11.

On January 8, Elisabeth Born submitted her resignation as prime minister to French President Emmanuel Macron. This change is an attempt to reboot the government before the European Parliament elections in June.

The very next day, Macron appointed 34-year-old Education Minister Gabriel Attal as the country's new prime.

On January 11, a new government was appointed in France. The country's Foreign Ministry was headed by Stéphane Sèjournè.
