On Thursday, January 11, a 15-year-old Czech citizen was detained in Poland. The teenager planned to cross the border with Ukraine to join the Ukrainian military.

Later, the boy was safely returned home, Rubryka reports, citing Poland's Slaski Border Guard Department.

Polish border guards received information from their Czech colleagues that a 15-year-old resident of Ostrava left home on January 10 but did not show up at school. Worried, his parents reported his disappearance to the relevant authorities, providing a description of their son.

Polish police determined that he was in Przemyśl when his phone was authorized there. It was later revealed that the boy took his passport from home because he wanted to get to Ukraine to fight against the Russians. The teenager had previously crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border.

Thanks to international cooperation between the Border Guard Service of Poland, Czech police, and Ukrainian authorities, the 15-year-old Czech citizen has been safely returned home.
