Russian sabotage groups trying to breach through defenses in liberated Kharkiv region – Ukrainian border guards
Russian forces continue to use sabotage and reconnaissance groups to break through the Sumy region, but Ukrainian border guards have also detected this group in the Kharkiv region, says Andrii Demchenko, the spokesperson.
Ukrainian troops expose these groups and target them with fire, forcing the enemy forces to retreat beyond the state border.
The soldiers are well aware of the threat of sabotage and reconnaissance groups trying to expose Ukrainian positions, which are then subjected to fire from various weapons from Russia's territory. Ukraine also has anti-sabotage reserves, which are sent to those places to clear the area.
Demchenko also noted that it is currently quite difficult to strengthen the border line in terms of engineering because of Russian constant shelling of bordering Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.
Russiansabotage and reconnaissance groups attempt to enter the territory of Chernihiv and Sumy regions 9-10 times a month. The Ukrainian military notes that the goals and objectives of the occupiers depend on the size of the group.
On October 12, an enemy reconnaissance group tried to break through the border of Ukraine in the Sumy region and reach a critical infrastructure facility. The invaders were repelled and retreated with losses.
In July, the Ukrainian forces prevented four attempts by Russian saboteurs to cross the border in Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
