Russian troops strike a school near Kherson by night
Early Friday morning on November 10, the Russian army shelled the outskirts of the frontline city of Kherson, specifically the village of Komishany, damaging a school.
This news was shared on Facebook by Roman Mrochko, the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Rubryka reports.
The aftermath of the Russian attack on Komishany, a suburb of Kherson, is visible in the published photos. According to the statement, the old building of the local school suffered significant damage, with windows smashed in the new building.
Nearly 800 children attended this school, which Mrochko emphasized is uncommon for educational institutions in Kherson because the constant Russian shelling doesn't allow offline learning. Many local children are also displaced, living in safer parts of the country.
The city administration chief also reported that the Russian army shelled Komishany around 1 am over the Dnipro River from the occupied left bank of the region.
The hostile attack damaged several houses, garages, and cars. According to the administration, Russian forces shelled populated areas of the Kherson city territorial community ten times in the past day, using a total of 56 projectiles.
The affected areas include Kherson, Komishany, Antonivka, Sadove, and Priozerne. Due to the Russian shelling, one person died, and four others suffered injuries of varying severity.
On November 9, the Russian army conducted 97 rounds of shelling in the Kherson region.
"During the past day, the enemy carried out 97 shelling incidents, firing 475 projectiles from mortars, artillery, Grad MRLs, tanks, drones, AGS, VCC, ZU-23-2, and aviation, including one missile. The enemy fired 19 projectiles at the city of Kherson," said the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
According to Governor Prokudin, the Russian military targeted residential quarters in populated areas, a church, and a store in the Beryslav district, as well as a preschool educational institution, a church, and a garage cooperative in Kherson. Two people have died, and five others have been injured.
As previously reported, on November 9, Russian occupiers shelled the Koravelnyi district of Kherson, killing one person and leading to one hospitalization. Two more civilians sustained minor injuries.
On the night of November 6, the Russian forces dropped a record number of aviation bombs on Beryslav and Krynky in the Kherson region. Russian occupiers also shelled Kherson during the night.
It was also reported that on November 5, Russians again shelled Kherson, injuring four people.
Moreover, early morning on November 10, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian territory using kamikaze drones called "Shahed." Air defense systems were active in the Kyiv region. Ukrainian air defense forces also intercepted a missile over the Dnipropetrovsk region.
