Zelensky speaks on Ukraine's preparation for winter: defense packages and events
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced preparations for important steps to be taken already at the beginning of November to prepare for winter.
Rubryka reported this with reference to the president's Telegram channel.
Zelensky said there is good news resulting from the Malta summit — a meeting of advisers on the Peace Formula.
"A joint statement of the co-chairs of the summit, both basic and unifying, has been agreed upon. This is the right signal. No matter what is happening in the world, the most important thing is unity for the sake of the real power of international law, as this is unity for the sake of justice for Ukraine and all countries and nations that may face aggression," he said.
"We are already preparing for important steps planned for the first weeks of November," the president said.
According to Zelensky, the main attention will be paid to new defense packages and developing relations with the European Union.
"We are also preparing for international events planned in Ukraine. Our work with partners will remain active," the head of state added.
Zelensky noted that it is important to never forget how many people — different people — are making efforts to protect our state and Ukrainians, to preserve Ukraine, the stability of our state, our society, and each and every one of us.
He emphasized that only this day, the Russians inflicted brutal blows on Donetsk, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. There were also missiles and drones. He thanked all our air defense soldiers.
"Thank you to everyone in the security and defense forces of Ukraine! And especially today, I want to celebrate those of our people — in different regions of Ukraine — who, despite all the difficulties, arrive at any time of the day at the sites of shelling, eliminate the consequences of strikes, dismantle rubble, demining the territory, putting out fires, rescuing people, recording evidence of Russian terror. These are all our employees of the State Emergency Service, all our doctors, emergency workers, utility workers, volunteers, our police officers, investigators and forensic experts, prosecutors, sappers, and pyrotechnicians — everyone who helps. I thank you!" emphasized the head of state.
He thanked all our people, everyone who remembers that the most important thing is to take care of Ukraine, Ukrainians, and each other.
"Find your place in the people's resistance to Russian aggression. Fight for Ukraine. Work for Ukraine. Add something of your own to the common result of Ukrainians," the president said.

Analysts and experts believe that the occupiers will not be able to leave Ukrainians without electricity this winter. At the same time, the Russians recently attacked Ukraine's energy system for the first time in six months. There were small outages in the capital, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Rivne regions.
Earlier, Ukrenergo, Ukraine's state electricity supplier, explained whether the energy system of Ukraine is ready for a repeat of last winter's scenario.
