Russian forces launched Onyx missile attack on Odesa overnight, damaging boarding house and port

On the night of October 7, the Russian forces attacked the Odesa region with supersonic anti-ship missiles of the Onyx type, resulting in the strike hitting a recreation area and a granary.

It is reported on Facebook of the Defense Forces of the South, on Telegram of the head of Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, and on Telegram of the Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces.

First, at night, the Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces warned the residents of the Odesa region about the threat of using ballistic weapons, and an air alert was announced in the region.

The military was informed that the enemy fired the missiles from the coastal missile complex "Bastion" in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

"At night, the enemy attacked Odesa with supersonic anti-ship missiles of the Onyx type, launched from the Bastion coastal missile complex in the temporarily occupied Crimea," the report emphasized.

Hits were recorded as a result of the shelling:

• in the boarding house building in the recreation area,
• in the granary of the port infrastructure.

The Defense Forces of the South said that the debris of the rockets and the blast wave caused the fire in the garage cooperative. Several apartment buildings were also damaged.

Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported that four people were injured by broken glass. They were provided with all necessary medical assistance, he added.

The Russian forces also attacked the Odesa region with kamikaze drones on the night of October 6. As a result of the attack, a granary and trucks were damaged.

As noted in the regional military administration, the air alert in the Odesa region lasted for three and a half hours. Three enemy drones were shot down over the region. However, there is also a hit.

The Russians hit the border and port infrastructure of the Izmail district. As a result of the attack, the granary was damaged, and nine trucks caught fire. There were no casualties.

In addition, due to the attacks in the Izmail district, the operation of the ferry crossing was suspended.

A convoy of Estonian organizations providing aid to Ukraine also came under fire. The volunteers' equipment was destroyed.
