Russia attacks Ukraine's south: explosions rock Odesa and Kryvyi Rih

On Monday night, Russian troops launched 19 Shahed drones, 12 Kalibr rockets, and two Onyx supersonic missiles at Ukraine's south.
Ukrainian defenders downed all drones and 11 Kalibrs, but there were impacts. The seaport in Odesa suffered significant damage, and a fire broke out in the building of the port hotel, Rubryka reports, citing the statements of Southern Defense Forces spokeswoman Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the Odesa region, Oleh Kiper, and the Southern Defense Forces.
"Both a massive and a combined attack took place this night. 19 Shahed attack drones were launched, and air defense forces destroyed all (of them)," Humeniuk said.
According to her, the Ukrainian forces downed two Kalibr cruise missiles over Mykolayiv and Kirovohrad regions.
"The combat work was very powerful and difficult. Unfortunately, private houses were also damaged by debris, and the grass caught fire, and there was a hit," Humeniuk said.
The first few explosions in Odessa were heard after 00:10. Later, the loud noises repeated.
Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa regional military administration, called on residents to stay in shelters.
"Odesa, stay in shelters! Do not film the work of air defense!" he said.

"A fire broke out in a non-residential high-rise in Odesa. It was quickly extinguished," he said.
According to him, destruction was also recorded in a warehouse and one of the private houses of the Odesa district.
One civilian was also injured in Odesa due to the blast wave. The woman was injured by shrapnel and is currently receiving all necessary care at a local hospital.
Later, the Southern Defense Forces reported that the Russian forces directed 19 Shahed-136/131 attack drones and two Onyx supersonic missiles at Odesa at night.
"Unfortunately, the enemy sneakily hit the port infrastructure. The seaport in Odesa suffered significant damage," the statement said. "A fire broke out in the building of the port hotel, which has not been functioning for several years. Firefighters promptly extinguished it."
Falling debris also damaged the warehouse buildings of one of the enterprises and a private house in the suburbs of Odesa, causing a fire.
The statement added that granaries were destroyed by Onyx missiles. "But people were not injured," the military added.
Monitoring channels also reported loud explosions in Kryvyi Rih. The explosions rang out in the city around 00:50. Around 01:07, repeated explosions were heard.
Before that, the Air Force command warned about the Kalibr missiles moving toward the city. The Russian invaders launched them on the territory of Ukraine from the waters of the Black Sea. Residents of Kryvyi Rih were urged not to leave shelters until the air raid alert was lifted.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, Ukraine recorded the activity of the tactical Russian air force. An air alert was announced in the area.
"The threat of the use of aviation weapons (KAB/KAR) for the front edge of the Zaporizhzhia region," the head of the Zaporizhzhia region, Yurii Malashko, reported.

On the night of September 25, the Air Force reported on the probable launch of Kalibr cruise missiles, Shahed drones, and Onyx supersonic anti-ship missiles toward Odesa. A large-scale air raid warning was announced, which was later canceled.
The Air Force also warned about launches of Onyx and Kalibr missiles and Shahed drones over Odesa and the region. The Air Force added that their course may change.
On the evening of September 21, Russian troops bombarded the Odesa region with the Onyx hypersonic missile. The recreational facility was damaged.
On September 21, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with dozens of Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 air-based cruise missiles. To carry out the attack, Russia involved ten Tu-95m bomber jets. By combined combat work, the Air Force and Air Defense Forces downed 36 cruise missiles.
