Russian forces attempting to recapture liberated Andriivka's south via Bakhmut – AFU General Staff
The latest AFU General Staff says over 30 combat clashes took place all over the frontline on September 22, as Russian try to advance back to the liberated Andriivka in the Donetsk region.
Over the past day, Ukraine's aviation struck the Russian Black Sea Fleet HQ in occupied Sevastopol, conducted 12 attacks on personnel clusters, weapons, and military equipment, and four hits on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
The missile units destroyed four more Russian artillery pieces.
Russian forces continue to ignore international humanitarian law, shelling not only the positions of Ukrainian troops but also the civilian infrastructure of settlements. Yesterday the Russia attacked Ukraine with six Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs, two of which were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense, the General Staff noted.
Russian missile attack on the eastern city of Kremenchuk injured over 30 people, including three children.
The cynical missile attack also affected civilians in Yurkivka, Zaporizhzhia region. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
The enemy launched five missiles and 49 air strikes, fired 24 times from multiple launch rocket systems at both the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian objects of the state.
More than 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.
Ukrainian forces repelled enemy attacks in several settlements around Bakhmut, as Russian forces tried to regain lost ground in the area of Andriivka, Donetsk region, but were unsuccessful. Ukrainian forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy and consolidating their positions.
As for the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Avdiivka and Severne in the Donetsk region. In the neighboring Marinka sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives with 12 attempts to force units out of their positions over the past day.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, enemy attacks near Robotyne and Verbove resulted in significant losses for the occupiers in manpower and equipment. Ukrainian defenders continue to hold the line at the occupied borders, inflicting losses on the occupying forces.
In the Melitopol direction, Ukrainian troops continue their offensive, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the enemy along the entire front line and forcing them to withdraw from their positions.
