Ukraine receives ten German Leopard tanks and 13 mln ammo rounds with new aid batch

The German government reported providing Ukraine with another package of military assistance, including Leopard 1A5 tanks and the TRML-4D radar air surveillance system.

The whole list of German aid has ten Leopard tanks, 16 Vector reconnaissance drones, four HX81 tank carriers, 13 million ammunition rounds for assault rifles and a field hospital.

TRML-4D uses the latest AESA radar technology to detect, track, and classify various types of aerial targets. Ukraine received the first German-made radar in May and then got another one in June.

Germany is one of the leaders providing assistance to Ukrainian troops. In particular, Berlin has provided several types of artillery, Leopard tanks of old and new modifications, IRIS-T and Patriot air defense systems, ammunition, vehicles, drones, and other types of weapons.

Previously, on August 24, Ukraine received more missiles for the Patriot air defense systems and drone detection platform.

In early August, Germany pledged to transfer 30 additional Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine after the arms concern Rheinmetall bought them from Belgium.

Media reports indicate that Germany turned to Greece with a proposal to transfer 100 Greek Leopard 1A5 currently in operation and, in return, get upgraded armored vehicles.
