In the past week, Germany sent military equipment to Ukraine, including missiles for the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system – for the first time.

This is reported on the website of the German government, updated on August 24.

According to the list, Ukraine received missiles for the Patriot air defense system from Germany last week.

In addition, the Ukrainian Defense Forces were given:

  • eight drone detection systems,
  • 40 reconnaissance drones RQ-35 HEIDRUN,
  • 16 Zetros heavy trucks,
  • 510 thousand cartridges for firearms.

The list of German weapons planned for transfer to Ukraine was also updated.

These are now mentioned for the first time:

  • 90 unmanned aerial vehicle detection systems,
  • an additional 31 million rounds of ammunition for firearms,
  • The number of Zetros trucks prepared for dispatch increased from 52 to 94.

It should be noted that at the beginning of August, the German government announced the transfer of two Patriot anti-aircraft missile system launchers to Ukraine.

Earlier, we wrote that in April 2023, Germany also transferred the Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex with missiles to Ukraine. One complex includes a radar, a command post, and up to eight launchers designed for four missiles each.

In addition, Ukraine also received another Patriot complex from the United States of America and additional launchers from the Netherlands.
