War-blighted towns of Bucha district have restored 7,000 buildings

More than 7,000 buildings have already been restored in the Bucha district of the Kyiv region, including more than 6,000 housing stock buildings, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reports.
What is the problem?
The Kyiv region is one of the most affected by Russian aggression. A part of the region was at the center of hostilities in the first month of Russia's invasion in March. Many towns — Bucha, Borodianka, Irpin, and more — were severely damaged and destroyed, so the authorities' essential task was to restore critical infrastructure and rebuild housing.
The regional administration noted that more than 18,000 buildings were completely and partially damaged in the Bucha district, of which more than 16,000 were housing.
For example, due to the Russian shelling, an apartment building on Vodoprovidna Street in Bucha suffered significant damage. Retaining structures, floor coverings, and an elevator shaft were damaged, windows were broken, and a fire was on the upper floors.
What is the solution?
"Restoration work began immediately after the de-occupation [in April 2022]. Seven thousand two hundred sixty-six objects have already been restored with preservation of life activity, including 6,352 housing stock," the statement says.
How does it work?
Capital repairs were carried out at the expense of the city budget. The panels and facade were replaced, the walls were insulated, and the elevator shaft was replaced along with the elevator and reinforcing structures. Damaged apartments were repaired, new windows and doors were installed, and the roof was restored. Repairs were made in the common corridors and on the stairs.

Rubryka reported that in the Hostomel community in the Kyiv region, 900 buildings have already been restored, of which 887 are housing stock.
Almost 1,000 buildings destroyed as a result of the war were completely or partially restored in Irpin, Kyiv region.
