Ukraine returns bodies of another 44 fallen soldiers home from Russian captivity
Ukraine returned the bodies of another 44 fallen defenders from the temporarily occupied territories.
Oleh Kotenko, the Commissioner for Issues of Persons Disappeared Under Special Circumstances, reported this on Telegram.
"The bodies of servicemen who gave their lives for Ukraine were handed over. Today, the bodies of 44 defenders were returned to their families," he said.
The repatriation of the bodies took place with the assistance of the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, the Commissioner for Missing Persons in cooperation with the Joint Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Department of Civil-Military Cooperation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and other law enforcement agencies, departments, and international organizations.
Kotenko emphasized that the process of returning the bodies of dead Ukrainian soldiers is ongoing. It takes place by the norms of the Geneva Convention.
