Ukrainian Railways and Uber team up to improve travel and passenger security amid war with advanced trip reservations
Ukrainian Railways Ukrzaliznytsia and Uber team up for a joint project.
Rubryka reports, citing the press services of the companies, that from now on, it will be possible to order a taxi in advance so as not to waste time looking for a car at the railway station.
What is the problem?
Because of constant air and shelling threats from Russia, passenger security deteriorated.
"With the beginning of the war, moving around Ukraine became more difficult due to security issues and the lack of air connections," said Kateryna Netymenko, Uber's country manager in Ukraine and the Baltic states.
What is the solution?
Uber offers to order a trip along the desired route in advance to avoid wasting time looking for a car at the station.
"So, together with Ukrzaliznytsia, we are happy to present a solution to facilitate travel in this difficult time," said an Uber representative.
Uber adds that Ukraine has become the first country to launch such integration with a railway carrier.
How does it work?
You need to link your Google or Microsoft account to your Uber profile and give Uber permission to access your bookings. Then you should ensure the train tickets are displayed in the application.
Synchronization has passed if the tickets have been sent to email. Travel plans can be found in the Travel section of the Uber main menu.
How to use Uber Travel?
- Open the Uber app and click the Travel button in the main menu;
- Sign in with your Google or Microsoft account;
- Give Uber and Uber-AwardWallet partner permission to access your in-app bookings;
- Make sure your train tickets are showing right in the Uber app;
- From now on, you can order an Uber ride in advance so the car will be waiting for you at your destination.
To receive tickets purchased through the UZ application to the email, you must specify the address in the Profile at My Data tab.
