Ukrainian forces successfully dislodge Russian troops from positions south of Bakhmut
The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to advance in the direction of Bakhmut.
Rubryka reports, citing the statement of the spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrii Kovaliov, at the Military Media Center, that the Russian invaders withdrew from their positions in the Andriivka area in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region.
According to the speaker, Ukrainian troops continue to conduct offensive operations north and south of the city of Bakhmut.
"During the conduct of offensive assault operations by the Defense Forces, the enemy was forced to retreat from their positions in the Andriivka area," Kovaliov said.
Situation at the front line
The General Staff said over 35 combat clashes occurred in the past 24 hours. The Ukrainian military hit nine Russian artillery systems.
In the Bakhmut front, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already cleared 35 square kilometers.
The National Security Council of the United States noted that the Russian occupiers had been erecting several lines of defense on the occupied territory of Ukraine for many months, so it slowed the advance of Ukrainian troops. However, the Armed Forces have already liberated 50% of the territory captured by the Russian Federation.
Russia continues to suffer losses in the war of aggression against Ukraine. During the war, 243,220 Russian occupiers had already been eliminated.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that the counteroffensive, in terms of effectiveness, is going according to plan.
