Drone strikes in occupied Crimea lead to ammunition and oil depot fires, suspending railway traffic

On Saturday, July 22, the occupying authorities of Crimea announced an alleged drone attack on infrastructure facilities on the peninsula: an oil depot in the village of Oktiabrske is probably on fire, and an ammunition depot is being detonated. Railway traffic was suspended.

The head of the occupying power of Crimea, Serhii Aksyonov, clarified that ammunition was also detonated in the warehouse.

According to him, there were no casualties or damage. However, people within a radius of 5 kilometers are being evacuated.

"As a result of an attack by an enemy drone on the Krasnohvardisky district, a detonation occurred at an ammunition depot. According to preliminary data, there were no damages or casualties. A decision was made to evacuate the population within a radius of 5 kilometers from the emergency site to temporary accommodation points," the statement said.

The occupiers also stopped traffic on the Crimean railway "to minimize risks."

Earlier, Aksionov reported on the alleged attack of drones on the infrastructure facilities of the peninsula.

"The adversary attempted a raid using UAVs on infrastructure facilities in the Krasnohvardisky district of the Republic of Crimea. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are on-site to eliminate possible consequences. All specialized services are working," he wrote.

The local news channel "NS/Simferopol" noted that several drones allegedly attacked an oil depot and an airfield in the village of Oktiabrske, located in the central part of the peninsula. Ammunition was detonated there.

In addition, the Russian news channel ASTRA reported that there was also a fire at the "Elevatorna" railway station in Oktiabrske.
