Solutions to win: Nibulon starts building first demining vessel in Mykolaiv

In Mykolaiv, the Nibulon company began to build a vessel for demining. It will be handed over to the State Emergency Service for demining waterways.

The Nibulon company announced that on Facebook.

What is the solution?

It is noted that the shipbuilders of the company resumed the industrial processing of aluminum for shipbuilding despite the war. At their own expense, they started building the first ship for the State Emergency Service, the main purpose of which will be the demining of international inland waterways.

How does it work?

According to Nibulon representatives, the enterprise wants to build 15 such vessels in the future.

It is emphasized that the creation of such vessels is highly relevant today since more than 16 thousand km² of the water area of inland waterways and approaches to ports are mined.

It should be noted that the shipbuilding division of the Nibulon company is the only plant in Ukraine with the technology, particularly for industrial shipbuilding from marine aluminum.

This is not the first project of Nibulon to clear Ukrainian territories. It was previously reported that the company received a certificate for humanitarian demining. It is about the reconnaissance of potentially mined areas.

For reference:

Nibulon is a Ukrainian agricultural company specializing in producing and shipping wheat, barley, and corn. Its headquarters are based in Mykolaiv, the only agrarian firm in Ukraine with its fleet and shipyard.

The founder of the company was Oleksiy Vandatursky. A massive Russian shelling attack in Ukraine's southern city of Mykolaiv killed one of the nation's wealthiest businessman Vandatursky and his wife on July 31, 2022.

Presidential advisor Mykhailo Podolyak emphasized that the businessman's death was an intentional murder.
