The Ministry of Defense is mandated to buy all ammunition from Ukrainian factories before procuring imported ammunition.

This is stated in the Ukrainian Pravda material.

According to information obtained from the publication's sources, the company is currently producing tens of thousands of ammunition of Soviet calibers each month, including 82, 120, 122, 125, and 152 mm. This production is being conducted in cooperation with foreign countries.

But production will increase due to new orders from the Ministry of Defense. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief's statement obliged the Ministry of Defense first to buy all ammunition from Ukrainian factories and only after that to procure imported ones.

The dearth of munitions at the battlefront is particularly prominent for Soviet calibers, however, shells produced by Ukroboronprom are more costly than their foreign counterparts.
