Repairing and producing tanks and weapons in Ukraine: five leading solutions of the week
Rubryka makes a small digest of solutions, bringing the Ukrainian victory closer, every Saturday:
🔥 Ukraine has procured three radars for its missile threat warning system, aiming to have a total of sixteen. In March 2023, at least 14 Ukrainian military personnel were trained in their use, and €14 million was collected in Lithuania for their purchase.
👏 A Ukrainian developer created electronic stretchers for transporting the wounded. The device is founded upon the concept of a ground drone and is equipped with a specialized remote control to facilitate its operation. It is capable of carrying up to 120 kilograms of payload.
🤝 Poland transferred 14 MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine. Also, Ukraine received 325 of the 575 tanks transferred by the West from Poland, more than the rest of the allies.
🚀 Britain handed Ukraine long-range Storm Shadow missiles ahead of the expected counteroffensive. Their range is up to 300 kilometers. Ukraine promised to use them only within the sovereign territory and not for strikes on the territory of Russia.
❗️ The German concern Rheinmetall founded a joint venture with Ukroboronprom State Concern [Ukroboronprom State Concern is a strategic manufacturer of weapons and military hardware in Ukraine – ed.] to repair and produce tanks in Ukraine. The concern expects to sign contracts for two more joint ventures that will work on ammunition and air defense systems.
