Russian troops shell Zaporizhzhia region with banned cluster and phosphorous shells

The Russian army shelled a village in the Zaporizhzhia district of the namesake region in Ukraine.

Rubryka reports, citing the Department of Emergency Situations in the Zaporizhzhia region, that five civilians were injured, and infrastructure was destroyed.

"On May 10, at 10:05 p.m., the occupiers massively shelled one of the villages of the Zaporizhzhia district with cluster and phosphorous shells," the statement reads. "As a result, five residential buildings caught fire, and another six were damaged." 

Five people were injured, including two ambulance workers. As a result of the shelling, two ambulances were damaged.

The gas pipe is also broken. The gas service team was working at the scene.

While extinguishing one of the houses, firefighters rescued a woman, who was handed over to medics. Firefighters promptly extinguished the fire.

Forty-eight rescuers and nine equipment units were involved from Ukraine's State Emergency Service, eight employees and two units of equipment from the Kushuhum local fire department, and six people and two units of equipment from the gas service. Police and ambulance workers were also involved on the site.

On May 10, explosions were reported in several settlements of the Zaporizhzhia region, temporarily occupied by the Russian occupation forces: Vasylivka, Mykhailivka, and Tokmak.
