Ukraine's national museum opens augmented reality exhibition on 1986 Chornobyl nuclear disaster
Ukraine's National Chornobyl Museum launched an AR exhibition "Pripyat. Time Machine," on the anniversary of the nuclear disaster, Ukraine's Ministry of Culture reports.
The museum launched the presentation of the AR exhibition "Pripyat. "Time machine". The author is Oleksandr Syrota, a documentary photographer, a former resident of Pripyat, the statement says.
The museum exposition is full of modern audiovisual and digital information, which expands the chronological and thematic framework of the museum and strengthens the credibility of the existing exposition.
With the help of augmented reality (AR) technology and their own smartphone, anyone can revive a photo of Pripyat and dive into the past with the help of the original chronicle of the city before the disaster. One can also join a VR tour of Pripyat.
Entrance to the museum on April 26 is free.
The accident at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant occurred on the night of April 26, 1986, during scheduled tests at the 4th power unit.
