Beginning in May 2022, Poland has provided Ukraine with eighty consignments of humanitarian aid for energy needs, totaling approximately one and a half thousand tons of equipment.

The press service of the Ukrainian government reported that.

"Since May 2022, 80 humanitarian aid shipments for energy needs have arrived from Poland to Ukraine. This is about 1.5 thousand tons of equipment. Twelve shipments with a total weight of 174 tons have arrived in the last week alone.

Among the provided equipment are generators, transformers, isolators, reinforced concrete supports, electric cable, emergency power supply systems, disconnectors, and other materials necessary for repair work," the message reads.

As reported, Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko emphasized that Poland is not just a partner but one of the biggest friends of Ukraine. The neighboring country provided Ukraine with comprehensive support from the first days of the full-scale war.

The Ukrainian energy industry uses all types of materials handed over by Polish partners for the fastest possible restoration of facilities affected by Russian attacks.

The head of the ministry emphasized that the work of the rescEU logistics hub in Poland is vital. The hub accumulates humanitarian aid from all over Europe and quickly transferred it to Ukraine.

It should be noted that according to the results of a new joint assessment of the UN Development Program and the World Bank, the damage caused to the energy, gas, and heat infrastructure of Ukraine exceeds 10 billion dollars.

As Rubryka wrote, during the 2022-2023 heating season, Russian troops carried out more than 1,200 missile and drone attacks on the most critical energy facilities, and 43% of main networks were also damaged.

As the "Ukrenerho" national energy company noted, all thermal and hydroelectric power stations suffered varying degrees of damage.
