British craftswoman raises funds for Ukraine's forces by selling embroidery collection
Jen Bird, the British craftswoman, was inspired by the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "Without you," which he used to address the russians.
She embroidered a picture with symbols of Ukraine's indomitability with a cross stitch.
What is the problem?
russia has attacked Ukraine. Now the whole world expresses its solidarity with Ukrainians and shows its constant support.
What is the solution?
"The whole world helps Ukraine. Some do humanitarian work, some donate, some help with weapons. The world does a lot of things," Zelensky emphasized.
Jen Bird felt inspired by Zelensky's evening speech, where he blamed russia for striking Ukrainian civil infrastructure and used the "Without you" expression to show the choice of all Ukrainians whether they will cooperate with russians or not. She created the picture with significant symbols of Ukraine's strength and culture.
How does it work?
It took her about three months to create the design and embroider it.
The embroidery design is now a "Without you" charity collection, which consists of:
- t-shirts,
- postcards,
- thermal mugs,
- tote bags
The craftswoman will donate all the money from the profit through the charity platform United24 to help Ukraine.
"Hoodies that save lives: United24 and InWhite have created a limited collection of clothing. The hoodies have prints of paintings by the modern Ukrainian artist Sonia Moroziuk. They plan to donate the money earned to charity foundations. All the money earned will be given to the United24 platform to purchase generators for operating rooms. Thousands of patients and the wounded will be able to receive necessary help.
