Ukraine to receive almost 100 remote weapon systems from Australia

Australia intends to provide Ukraine with about a hundred remote weapon systems (RWS) worth up to 80 million dollars.

The Australian company Electro Optic Systems reports this on the website.

On April 3, the company Electro Optic Systems (EOS) announced the signing of a contract for supplying remote weapon systems (RWS) to Ukraine in the amount of up to 80 million US dollars.

It is reported that EOS has entered into an agreement with the Ukrainian state-owned foreign trade enterprise SpetsTechnoExport ("STE") for supplying up to 100 heavy RWS systems to Ukraine, including spare parts for them and related services.

The agreement provides for the delivery of the systems during 2023 and 2024, subject to demonstration tests in the coming weeks.

For reference:

RWS is a weapon system mounted on armored vehicles and tanks to allow troops to identify targets, automatically track them, and fire from the weapon system without leaving the vehicle or being exposed to external influences.

The RWS is a long-standing EOS product currently in use by Armed Forces in Australia, North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

It should be noted that Poland handed over the first batch of MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine.

In addition, the budget committee of the Bundestag in Germany on March 29 approved the provision of another 12 billion euros for military aid to Ukraine.
