Zelensky to visit Poland to express gratitude and discuss cooperation
President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will pay an official visit to Poland on April 5, the head of the Bureau of International Policy under the President of Poland, Marcin Przydasz, told RMF24 radio.
"On Wednesday, April 5, we expect the official visit of the President of Ukraine to Poland," Przydasz said, adding that this information was made public ahead of time because President Zelensky wants to meet with Ukrainians living in Poland and Poles.
Przydasz reported a meeting planned for Wednesday evening at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.
"Everyone will be able to come to Castle Square on Wednesday afternoon, and I guarantee that everyone who will be there will be able to see the Presidents on the TV screen and maybe even closer," Przydasz stressed.
He added that this visit would be special for many reasons. He couldn't reveal the details but only said, "We are preparing several elements that will show that this visit will have a special character."
Przydasz noted that Zelensky's previous visits to other countries during the war, particularly to Washington or London, were almost secret, without an appropriate ceremony. In contrast, the visit to Poland will be official and public.
"The President of Ukraine would like to say a few words to the Poles about what happened over the last year, how they helped Ukraine, the refugees at the border, and later by receiving them at home. This is the main goal of this meeting," Przydasz emphasized.
According to him, Zelensky will meet with Polish leader Andrzej Duda during the visit.
"These will be long conversations, not only on the topic of security but also on economic cooperation, political affairs, and historical topics. We want this program to be full," Przydasz emphasized.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will also meet with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Warsaw during his visit to Poland on April 5. Michal Dworczyk, Minister of the Office of the Prime Minister of Poland, reported this on Twitter.
"On Wednesday, April 5, in the afternoon in Warsaw, Prime Minister Mateusz Moravetskyi will meet with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky," Dworczyk said.
