russian forces shelled three districts of Kharkiv region overnight
The russian troops shelled the settlements of the Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, and Kupiansk districts of the Kharkiv region in Ukraine's northeast, damaging houses, and farm buildings.
Oleh Syniehubov, the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head, reported on Telegram that during the past 24 hours, the russian forces continued shelling the settlements of the Kupiansk, Chuhuiv, and Kharkiv districts of the region.
Cities of Vovchansk, Kupiansk, Strelecha, Ohirtseve, Shevchenkove, Hryanikyvka, and others were under the fire of the invaders. Residential buildings and commercial buildings were damaged. There were no casualties among the civilian population.
The Kharkiv region has been under continuous shelling by russia since the beginning of the full-scale war. In the first days of russia's invasion, parts of the region were captured, but russian forces failed to capture the region's capital, Kharkiv. In early September 2022, Ukraine began a major counteroffensive, de-occupying the territory, and successfully liberated most occupied parts. Since then, de-occupied districts have been under most of the russian attacks.
Oleh Syniehubov reports that during the past 24 hours, 24 people were evacuated from areas under constant shelling. These people received humanitarian aid. The ones who need housing are provided with accommodation.
Humanitarian demining of the region continues, the head of the region says, adding deminer units of the State Emergency Service defused 56 explosive objects during the past day.
Active fighting continues on the contact line, he says. The invaders attempted to launch an offensive in the Hryanikyvka area but failed and retreated with losses. Ukrainian defenders reliably hold their positions and destroy the enemy.
