Poland will transfer 60 more Twardy tanks to Ukraine

In the coming days, Poland will hand over 60 more post-Soviet tanks to Ukraine, including the PT-91 Twardy.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced this at a joint press conference with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, during his visit to Kyivon on the anniversary of russia's invasion, Ukrinform reports.

"Also, we will hand over our very good PT-91 tanks in a few days. Another 60 tanks will arrive in Ukraine," Morawiecki said.

In the context of a broad tank coalition that transfers Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, the head of the Polish government noted that Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, and Spain will also transfer their equipment, adding he is in contact with the authorities of these countries on this issue.

He also announced that Warsaw transferred four Leopard 2 tanks out of 14 to Ukraine. Reports came amid the news that Polish PM headed to Ukraine for a visit to show solidarity with Ukraine. The rest of the tanks will be transferred a little later.

In total, since the beginning of russia's full-scale war, Poland has transferred about 250 T-72 tanks to Ukraine. The PT-91 Twardy is a Polish upgraded version of the T-72.
