Ukraine's critical infrastructure bombed 255 times since October – prosecutor general
Two hundred fifty-five russian missiles have hit the critical infrastructure of Ukraine since October 10, 2022.
Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"Since October (if I'm not mistaken, the first strike was on October 10, 2022), the enemy has been destroying critical infrastructure. In particular, russia has carried out 255 strikes on 112 targets. These are the strikes that hit the targets, not those that our military shot down, " Kostin said.
According to him, Ukraine views these attacks as a creation of unacceptable living conditions, consciously done by russia, which could be considered genocidal acts.
The last of russia's massive missile attacks took place on February 10. At that time, the Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, reported that heating and hydro-generation facilities and high-voltage infrastructure had been hit in six regions. In particular, four thermal power plants of DTEK Group (DTEK Group is a diversified energy holding – ed.) were damaged.
And on the night of February 11, the occupiers carried out drone attacks hitting power plants and objects of main electrical networks.
However, the energy industry managed to cope with these challenges. On February 21, Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal informed that the Ukrainian energy system has been operating without a capacity deficit for ten days in a row. National Power Company "Ukrenergo"' (an electricity transmission system operator in Ukraine and the sole operator of the country's high-voltage transmission lines, owned by the Ukrainian government – ed.) does not predict an electricity shortage in the coming days unless there are new missile attacks from russia.
