Britain to aid Ukraine’s railways
"Ukrzaliznytsia" (Ukrainian railways) received equipment for the rapid restoration of railway bridges from the British railway company Network Rail Infrastructure Limited.
The company's press service reported this.
"We are sincerely grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine. This time the help came from the British railway company Network Rail Infrastructure Limited with the assistance of the Ministry of Transport of Great Britain," the message reads.
In particular, Ukrainian railways received 45 containers with the Acrow 700XS Rail bridge system, supports, tunnel cladding, and tools to rapidly restore bridges and railway infrastructure.
Ukrainian railway workers underwent educational training on working with the Acrow 700XS Rail Bridge system in January.
Ukrainian railways will receive almost 10 million pounds of aid from its British colleagues.
For reference:
Since the full-scale war began, "Ukrzaliznytsia" has launched evacuation flights to rescue residents of the occupied territories. More than 4 million people and over 120 000 pets were evacuated.
Moreover, Ukrainian railways transported more than 300,000 tons of humanitarian cargo.
"Iron diplomacy" ("zalizna dyplomatiia" in Ukrainian transliteration – a term that refers to the practice of transporting world leaders through Ukraine via rail since the start of the full-scale war) has become a good support for the President's diplomatic front. It has transported more than 200 foreign delegations.
