russians wanted to disrupt Banksy auction fundraising for Ukraine
The russians tried to obstruct the online auction of the works of the British artist Banksy to raise funds for Ukraine.
The Guardian reports.
Banksy, a world-renowned graffiti artist, initially announced the auction of 50 of his stencils through the site of the Legacy of War Foundation to raise funds to support friends in Ukraine.
Banksy fans had to sign up online to get prints that depict a mouse sliding on the wall of the box labeled "fragile." One image is worth £ 5,000. According to Legacy of War, there was a problem with fraudulent registrations. "The site has received more than 1 million registration requests (and 3500 "hostile attacks" from russian IPs), so we now appreciate your patience," the Fund said, adding that they would soon inform successful applicants.
