First portable bomb shelter installed in Kherson

A mobile concrete bomb shelter was installed in the center of Kherson at the site of russia's shelling that occurred on December 24.

The Kherson City Council reported this.

"The first shelter was established at the place of the terrible tragedy that happened in the center of the city on December 24," the statement reads.

The city received the first of four mobile concrete shelters from the  Youth 2.0 charity foundation as part of the SafePlace4UA project.

Earlier, it was reported that russian troops attacked one of the facilities of the Khersongas gas supply and maintenance company; there were no casualties.

Yuriy Sobolevskyi, the first deputy chairman of the Kherson Regional Council, said on Facebook that the russian military could not boast of success in the Kherson region, so they are trying to compensate for this by regularly shelling populated areas.

Over the past day, russian invaders shelled the territory of the Kherson region 77 times.

On the night of January 8, russian invaders shelled Kherson with prohibited incendiary ammunition.

During the 24 hours of the so-called "Christmas truce" in the Kherson region, russian troops struck 19 times.

On the morning of December 24, russian troops shelled the center of Kherson.

According to the investigation, the occupiers launched another shelling in the center of Kherson, targeting the places with the largest concentration of residents. As a result, at least eight civilians were killed, and 17 more civilians were injured. Several people were hospitalized with severe injuries.

Later, the deputy head of the President's Office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, reported eight dead and 35 wounded. Objects of civil infrastructure were damaged, including residential buildings, administrative buildings, and motor vehicles.

Later, it became known that as a result of the shelling, 11 people were killed, and 64 were wounded.

On January 5, the russian invaders once again shelled the center of Kherson. A man died in the place of the strike. An 18-year-old boy died, as reported in the Emergency Center. The building was destroyed; the man was under the rubble.
