The most popular newspaper in Ireland congratulated Christmas in Ukrainian
This is reported on the website of the Irish Independent.
"When you arrived here, our country must have seemed like a blank slate to you. We tried to write on it the words 'Welcome!'. Now our task is to make you feel the moment of your arrival", – says the editorial text entitled "Christmas message to Ukrainians in Ireland".
The authors also mention the "heroic spirit" and "courage" of the Ukrainians and noted that our citizens showed the world "that brute force cannot defeat a nation with such strong love for its own people, in whose conscience the feeling of his own land lives so deeply, own place".
In the text, the publication highlights that "a sense of hope and salvation pervades all Christmas traditions, regardless of where and in what language Christmas is celebrated."
"Next to our Christmas trees, decorated with lights, you will remember your "grandfather", the Christmas sheaf of ears of corn, which so eloquently reminds you of your ancient ancestors and symbolizes prosperity and abundance. Like us, you will feel the presence of the ancestors even more intensely, remembering everything, what they gave for us and what we can be grateful for", adds the publication in the greeting.
