Netherlands to allocate €2.5 bln to support Ukraine

Next year, the Netherlands will allocate 2.5 billion euros to support Ukraine.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced this on Twitter.

"As long as Russia continues its war against Ukraine, the Netherlands will provide assistance to Ukraine. Military, humanitarian and diplomatic. We're allocating €2.5 bn for this in 2023. Ukraine can rely on the Netherlands. We just confirmed this in our conversation with  President Volodymyr Zelensky," Rutte reported.

President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked for the allocation of 2.5 billion euros of aid. The head of state announced this on Twitter.

"Had a conversation with Dutch PM Mark Rutte. Thanked for the decision to allocate €2.5 billion to help Ukraine in the fight against the aggressor. We appreciate the Dutch support! We keep working together to increase defense capability, energy stability & restore critical infrastructure," said Zelensky.

The Netherlands assured of unwavering support until Ukraine's victory. Minister of Foreign Affairs Wopke Hoekstra stated at a joint press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, in November that the Netherlands considers it its duty to support Ukraine to victory in the war against russia and to help bring to justice those guilty of crimes of aggression against Ukraine.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands also paid tribute to the victims of the Holodomor.

In October, the Netherlands announced the transfer of anti-aircraft missiles worth € 15 million to Ukraine to strengthen Ukraine's air defense. The Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Kajsa Ollongren, announced this on October 12 at the ministerial meeting of the North Atlantic Alliance in Brussels.
