When Ukrainian military will be able to master Patriot air defense system — Air Force spokesman
The Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, which will be provided to Ukraine by the United States, Ukrainian defenders will be able to master within a few months.
Rubryka writes about this, referring to Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ignat on the air of the national telethon on December 22.
The AF spokesman emphasized that in peacetime, it is a certain process. He noted that the partners take training very seriously, and everything must be done according to the rules.
"But for today, in the conditions in which Ukraine found itself, I think that the process will be accelerated, perhaps up to several months.
We have an example — Iris-T and NASAMS. The training of our anti-aircraft missile specialists who went abroad lasted only a few weeks. They arrived, mastered these complexes, and successfully perform tasks in Ukraine. We see that they have a lot of success: they shot down russian missiles and Shaheds," Ignat said.
We will remind, against the background of the visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the USA, the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Wednesday officially announced a new military aid package for Ukraine in the amount of 1.85 billion dollars, which for the first time provides for the transfer of the Patriot air defense system.
In turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba emphasized that the decision of the President of the United States, Joe Biden, to transfer the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine is a precedent and opens the door for similar steps by the allies.
