Poland will receive three Patriot systems from Germany

Germany will transfer 3 Patriot air defense systems to Poland, which will be integrated into the general NATO system.

This was stated by the representative of the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany, Arno Kollats, at a briefing, Ukrinform reports.

"The day before, the two defense ministers reached an agreement that Poland agrees to Germany's proposal and approves the deployment of Patriot systems on its territory," Kollats said.

He clarified that it is about 3 systems that "must be integrated into NATO's general system and general planning."

In the coming days, a special group will go to Poland to study the situation on the spot. The parties still have to agree on many details.

Reference

In November, Germany offered Poland Patriot systems to protect the country's airspace after a missile fell in the area bordering Ukraine.

In response, Poland offered to place the Patriot in Ukraine near the border with the Republic of Poland, but Berlin did not agree.

Warsaw expressed disappointment with such a decision.
